Security Check
The security check at the airport can be somewhat an inconvenience. But it is set up for our protection. As we walk through this, it scans our body and our belongings for weapons or anything that can be used as a weapon that could harm others or something someone else can use to harm us. In church, our security check can be several things. The first thing the security check represents is the Holy Spirit. We should have received this wonderful gift when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. John 14:26-27 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Luke 12:12 states For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say. Jesus told the disciples in John 16:6-11 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. The Holy Spirit will be your security check; He will teach you how to live holy with the Word of God. Another thing that represents the security check is membership. Salvation is the most important step. But you need to be taught and trained the Word of God. In Hebrews 10:25 states, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another. In 2Corinthians 5:17-18 states therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. There are different levels of in the body of Christ.
You first come in as babes. In 1 Peter 2:2, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby. In going to a local church you learn the things of God. Remember, you will be operating in the Kingdom system and not the world system. In Rom 12:1-2 states I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
The third thing I think represents the security check is the New Members and/or New Converts class. In this class, the vision that God has given your man or woman of God is taught. You find out what the mission and vision is. You also find out why they do what they do in this ministry. It should be backed by the Word of God. When you become a member at a church, you have to believe in the vision of that church. If you honestly think you can’t get on board at that church by serving in a ministry, this may not be the place for you.
